Lord Ganesh, The Elephant God is the most celebrated and worshipped Hindu deity. He is regarded as the Lord of Beginnings and Remover of obstacles. He is honored at the start of auspicious ceremonies and rites. He is the deva of intellect and wisdom.

Lord Ganesh is also considered to be one of the best teachers of Hindu mythologies. Some of the few things we all can learn from him are:-

  •  Always keep your mind open - The massive head of Lord Ganesh represent wisdom, intelligence and progressive thinking. It also teaches us to have an open mind about things so that we can make wise decisions.
  • Listening skills - The big ears of Lord Ganesh represent good listening skills. In order to communicate effectively one should listen carefully and attentively. Listening to someone keenly and closely plays a vital role in making informed decisions.
  • Focus - The eyes of Lord Ganesh represent concentration. They tell us to pay attention to detail and to have a holistic view on matters.
  • Adaptability - The trunk of Lord Ganesh represents his adaptable nature. It teaches us to be more accommodating of others.
  • Removal of bad - The one-tusk of Lord Ganesh is symbolic for weeding out bad from good.
  • Humility – His ‘Vahana’, the mouse represents humility and simple living. Lord Ganesh believed that learning to live within your means is the first step towards happiness.

This mandala art is a tribute to Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles, who fills our life with energy,

Things required for this Mandala Art:-

1. Black marker

2. A4 size paper or any paper

3. Pencil 


How to make this Mandala Art:-


· STEP-1 (Outline and Crown) -: First start drawing an outline of Lord Ganesh, once you are done with the outline move on to the crown of Lord Ganesh. Start filling the crown with designs such as swirls and miniature version of circle doodles.

· STEP-2 (Face and Trunk) -: Now on the face make intricate flower patterns along with humps around them, inside the trunk make designer lines and add few other mandala designs between the spaces created due to these lines.

· STEP-3 (Ears) -: Now move on to the ears, draw long and tomb petals inside them. Add two or three other designs to these in order to completely fill the ears.

· STEP-4 (Body) -: On the body of the Lord Ganesh draw a unique combination of designs that include - semicircles, triangles, humps, tomb and lines.

· STEP5- (Legs) -: On the legs start creating designs such as check designs, long petals, circles and triangles. Make sure you fill these shapes with another mandala designs as well.

· STEP-6 -: Once you are done drawing with the pencil, take a black marker and use it for darkening these designs.
